Each year in the United States more than 25,000 children "age out" of foster care without being adopted.

Right now more than 140,000 U.S. children wait in foster care for a permanent home, a "forever" family. Many wait in vain. They wait not because of who they are. They wait because of who they are not.

Children old and young -- including the abandoned, orphaned, runaway, disabled, victimized, and exploited -- have the same basic needs. They need a place to live, food to eat, clothes to wear, and an education. They also need a safe haven where they are assured of acceptance, support, and unconditional love. In short, they need a loving home.

If God moves you, you can help in several ways.

The best way is to open your loving home to an older child and bless them with God's love.

If you can't adopt, your prayers will help. Pray for children lost in poverty. Pray for children who have been abandoned. Pray that God will heal hurt children through loving homes with parents who will protect them, nurture them, and bring them to know Jesus as their Savior.

If you feel God leading you to adopt an older child, there is a lot of information you need to know.  Check out our e-book for more insights into older child adoption.
